Description
CTData Collaborative (CTData) seeks a motivated, mid-career evaluator to conduct mixed-methods evaluations of multi-year projects. This person must live in Connecticut. The ideal candidate will plan and implement a process and outcome evaluation.
The Program Evaluation Specialist will coordinate with an external nonprofit program team to develop appropriate data collection tools, create standardized data collection and entry processes, and collect, process, analyze data, and present findings to stakeholders to inform future implementation efforts at the system and provider levels.
They will also focus on building evaluation capacity among the program team so they can implement the long-term data collection processes within their organization.
Additionally, the person in this position will engage stakeholders in discussion of the evaluation findings, ensuring effective communication of insights to foster informed decision-making.
Being proactive, organized, and able to balance multiple competing priorities effectively is essential. Integrity, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with others are “musts.”
This role is hybrid – Some in office work, some remote work, and occasional travel to client sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with nonprofit providers from diverse backgrounds to identify evaluation needs.
- Facilitate the development of theories of change and/or logic models.
- Develop and implement realistic and rigorous mixed methods evaluation plans and processes, including study design, measurement, data collection, and data analysis.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings.
- Implement all stages of the evaluation project, from design to reporting findings.
- Establish and maintain project datasets.
- Develop and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Incorporate innovative approaches to data gathering/reporting and problem-solving.
- Engage stakeholders throughout the evaluation process to facilitate data sharing, collaborative problem-solving, and data use.
- Provide capacity building coaching and to program team in developing data collection procedures, building data collection instruments, regularly reviewing data, and providing feedback to resolve data quality and implementation issues.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses that will provide actionable insights.
- Use data visualization and summaries to facilitate insights from the data collected for stakeholders.
- Tailor presentations and reports to suit different audiences, making complex data accessible and understandable.
- Perform related duties as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in one of these fields (applied social science, evaluation, psychology, community psychology) with at least 5 years of post-degree experience conducting evaluation.
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative processes and outcome evaluation methodologies.
- Experience using qualitative analysis programs (nVivo, Atlas.TI, Dedoose, etc.).
- Excellent project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to convey complex information in writing and verbally so that it is easily understood by stakeholders and organizations.
- Experience maintaining effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders to carry out research and/or evaluation activities.
- Demonstrated consulting experience, including navigating client relationships.
- Entrepreneurial, willing to take initiative to create solutions and improve processes.
- Experience in statistical programming, data/statistical analysis, and interpreting findings using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, STATA) as well as spreadsheet applications.
